Basic Ritual for the Solitary Witch
There are as many ways and reasons to perform a ritual as there are individuals on this planet: there are simple spells that can be cast without using much at all of the trappings and psychodrama of a ritual, full blown rituals in preparation for an important spell that requires a higher level of energy to be raised, or simply to acknowledge the moon :) How you choose to adapt this information to your methods will be very personal! Myself, I don't general do rituals at all, I don't feel a need for it. The following pages, however will lead you through a fairly "standard" view of ritual, and how do perform it.

Your Purpose for the Ritual
Why do you want/need/wish to do this? Magic should involve serious emotional
need, not just a casual desire; a ritual, however can be performed even as
a simple celebration!
Write
Your Ritual
Putting the details on paper helps keep it straight in your mind, and makes
things go more smoothly during the ritual (a final copy can go into your BOS)
Gather
the Necessary Tools
Making sure you have absolutely everything you need at hand before you start
is critical! You definitely don't want to have to leave your circle partway
through to run and grab some forgotten item!
